R3L Engineering delivers engineered solutions to a broad spectrum of industrial customers. Providing solutions in new construction and existing upgrades for plant power delivery systems encompassing all vintage and voltage ranges. Our offerings range from new equipment, design, service, or a combination of all three. Experienced engineers who will take a customer’s project from conception and furnish a finished project ready for production. R3L Engineering offers routine maintenance and site surveys to assist customers with development of future upgrade plans. Our goal is to perform our work safely & leave the customer with a functioning, reliable solution for years to come.

 
 

James (Jamie) Lawler BS in electrical engineering from Auburn University.  Thirteen years of employment with General Electric Industrial Solutions (GE) focusing on power and maintenance solutions for large Industrial/ Utility customers.  Two years prior as power system engineer for PowerSouth Electrical Cooperative.  Nine years as lead field engineer with GE executing field operations.  Four years as service manager with GE, responsible for Engineering Services operations in Alabama, Mississippi, & Tennessee, managing approximately 20 field engineers.  Customers include large commercial & all industrial with 90% of volume from Paper, Utility, Mining, Petrochemical, & Government.

 
 

Kerry Rainer – BS in electrical engineering from Auburn University. Thirty years of employment with GE focusing on power and maintenance solutions for large Industrial/ Utility customers . State of Alabama professional engineer license. Alabama Contractors license. Ten years as a GE field engineer executing field operations, focusing drives and controls. Twelve years as a GE service manager, responsible for operations of Alabama, Mississippi, & Tennessee, managing approximately 20 field engineers. Eight years in large projects/sales director for southeast united states covering 13 total states with 30 direct reports. Customers include large commercial & all industrial with 90% of volume from Paper, Utility, Mining, Petrochemical, & Government.

 
 

Eric Roberts – Bachelor of electrical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.  Twenty three years of employment with GE Industrial Solutions focusing on power and maintenance solutions for large Industrial/ Utility customers.  Prior Experience includes two years with a NETA certified testing company and four years as a relaying field engineer for Florida Power & Light.  Eight years as senior field engineer with GE executing field operations.  Fifteen years as application engineer for GE designing arc flash and other technical solutions for the entire southeastern region of US.

Larry Robinson – BS in electrical engineering from University of Alabama Birmingham.  Twenty one years of employment with GE Industrial Solutions focusing on power and maintenance solutions for large industrial/ Utility customers. Fifteen years prior as field technician for motor shop.  State of Alabama and Mississippi professional engineer licenses.  Eighteen years with GE as senior field engineer executing field operations.  Three years as sales account manager covering north/central Alabama & North Mississippi.  Customers include large commercial & all industrial with 90% of volume from Paper, Utility, Mining, Petrochemical, & Government.

Chris Burnette, P.E. - Chris earned his BSEE and MSEE from Clemson University with a major in Power Systems Engineering and a minor in Mathematics. He has over 25 years’ experience in Power Systems Engineering and Consulting, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in eight states. He is proficient with power system studies in both the Frequency Domain and Time Domain. Chris is a Senior Member of IEEE and IAS, a Senior Member of the IEEE Power & Energy Society, and is an active member of the Power Systems Subcommittee of the Pulp & Paper Industry Conference. He has authored and presented multiple technical papers, and he currently teaches a class in Modern Power Systems Analysis as an Adjunct Professor at Western Carolina University.

Eric Thiele – AS in Electronics Technology from United Electronic Institute Tampa, FL. Ten years employment at GE Industrial Solutions as a Lead Field Engineer, focusing on power delivery, drives and controls solutions in the pulp and paper, mining and data storage center industries. Other relative experiences four years as a Combustion Turbine Technician at Tenaska GA Partners, ten years as Electrical Maintenance Coordinator at Cemex Cement Knoxville TN, two years Controls Technician at Park Automation Dothan, AL  and five years as Electro/Mech Technician at Sony Magnetic Products Dothan, AL.

Stephen Casey-2020 graduate of Auburn University. Stephen started with R3L in May 2020.

Josh Johnson - BS in electrical engineering from Tennessee Technological University. Three years of employment with Vanderlande Industries as a Site Supervisor focusing on sortation equipment. Josh started with R3L in October 2021.

 Robert McLaughlin-Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Alabama Huntsville in 2023. Five years previously as a flight avionics technician.
